Hello there Tumblr friends! We’re very sorry to have not kept you updated. A lot has happened since the last time we posted on here. We had our EP release show, toured a few cities and our drummer decided to part ways with the band. We carried on with a few shows on the tour playing acoustically but trying to fill our drummers position was very hard. As students at university, juggling the band, part time jobs and going to classes and doing the work for deadlines is not easy so we have decided to call it a day for now. Here is the announcement in full from our Facebook page. You have not heard the last from us, we’ll still be doing music, maybe not together but you’ll still see us around. Facebook announcement:
Dear Friends/Family/Fans.
We have all just experienced one of the best years of our musical careers, writing and recording an LP in our University Halls and somehow finding ourselves performing in venues up and down the country. We’ve met some great people in 12 months, who have helped us along and pushed us to be more than we ever wanted to be.
Unfortunately, it’s incredibly hard to maintain the motivation and hard work that’s expected whilst completing degrees, part/full time employment and everything that gets thrown at you as students.
We would still be drinking in rehearsals if it wasn’t for Jack Hoare. The man is a legend who made us into a real band, and will no doubt go on to do wonderful things for other bands/artists. Thank you for putting us out on the best shows we’ve ever done, and driving us round the country Coach.
Thank you to all our friends that have got involved and come to our shows, we literally love you so much for it. Azn fangirls you’ve been the best. Tali you’ve been incredible driving us everywhere and supporting right from the start. Finally a massive thank you to the guys that have booked us wherever you are, and a massive apology to the promoters that we’ve messed around recently.
Trying not to think of a cliche ending to this but anyway, hopefully this isn’t the end of TLV, but for now we’re calling it a day.
You can still listen to our songs on soundcloud and Facebook.
It’s been one hell of year and on behalf of my band members, we thank you again,
Here’s a photo from our show at The Peel in May, supporting Awolnation. We will be returning to The Peel to play a show in celebration of the release of our first EP, More Than Just Mistakes. Come down on 26th September if you’re around the London area to hear the whole EP live! More news to come soon!
Hey, it’s Carmen here. If you recognise some of our tunes, it’s not because we ripped off another band but because we decided to change our band name due to multiple reasons. Think Like Valencia, formerly Seas & Stars. Please continue supporting and listening to us. We’re still the same with a different name. Please don’t hate. Peace.
